Defeat for commercial whaling; the battle may be won but the war continues
On Wednesday, a proposal that would have allowed the resumption of commercial whaling was defeated at the International Whaling Commission’s annual meeting. Dolphin-friendly tuna – is it a meaningless label?
Much of the canned tuna you see in the shops sport the label “dolphin-friendly” or “dolphin safe”. You would think that it means that all measures were taken to ensure dolphins weren’t harmed in catching your tuna.
