Having an event? Make it Green

In my years of working as a consultant, I planned and managed many events.  It was painful to see professionals in their fields give so little regard to the environment when it came to their events.  Not only did this oversight have negative consequences on the environment, it also cost the organisers of the event more money – sometimes, significantly more.  Many organisers have suffered bad publicity as a result of a poorly thought out event. Easy travel in Vancouver – and no snow

Many people who watched the 2010 Olympic Games coverage would be forgiven for thinking Vancouver and southwestern BC is all about snow. After all, the place is in Canada.

The fact is Vancouver gets very little snow (something I am grateful for because I hate snow and cold weather. I don’t ski or snowboard and winters get me depressed). So, I am happy to speak about travels in Vancouver from a snow-averse perspective. Read the rest of this entry »
